Meg and I spent last week on holiday with my family near the village of Wetton in the south of the Peak District. We were fortunate enough to have beautiful weather, and enjoyed a few long walks and chilled XC mountainbike rides. The routes were reasonably short and well documented so I’l save rambling on about the details, but tying in the Tissington and High Peak trails along with a few chalky farm tracks made for some great riding. We spotted a couple of guys bivvying out at Thors Cave, and i’ve made a note that that would be an awesome place to wake up, though one for a quiet time of week. I also took time to revisit the spoon carving habit, and we saw a serious amount of lambs.
I’ve recently got myself a new camera after having been without one for a long time. I’m the sort of guy who would much rather have a £400 camera and a £100 phone than a combination of the two, and there’s definitely something nice about leaving the phone at home and snapping pics on a proper camera. I just need to take it off of ‘auto’ and get to grips with using it now!
