So this one is a bit special… After nearly six years I made the decision to move on from my position at Saddleback, who are a distributor of high end cycling products. Late last year we began working with Abbey (who any tool nerds out there will be familiar with) and were fortunate to be using thier tools in our workshop. On my leaving day my I was kindly presented with this Harbor gauge engraved with my name, and I look forward to using it for many years to come.
Honestly this tool is a perfect example of doing something to excess. A dishing tool is quite simple and because they are measuring symetry thier own precision isnt actually all that important, but the Harbor Gauge is what happens when you forget about the price, turn the quality up to 11, anodise it green, and put a brass knob on the handle. It’s bloody lovely!
