Last weekend saw the return of the Bristol Board Meeting, in which 100 or more people on skateboards and longboards of all shapes and sizes push the 15 miles from Bath to Bristol to raise money for Macmillan cancer support, and to have a great time!
The first time I took part in this event I was about 14. 15 years later, and I’m now playing a part in it’s organisation. Its a slightly crazy feeling to be getting involed in the scene again all these years on, but i’m loving it more than ever. It’s a pleasure to reconnect with old freinds at the same time as making new ones, all brought together through a common love of rolling about on a plank.
This year we regrouped at Hillfeilds pump track before skating the final couple of miles down to the shop in huge group, I think this was one of the best moments in Board Meeting history and it was great to see so many smiles and so much support from people who werent expecting to see 100 skateboarders mob the bike path on a Sunday afternoon!
For anyone curious about the event more information is on the Lush Longboards site HERE. Special prize for the first person to spot 14 year old Rob.
