Towards the end of last year, my dad won a Cannondale Scalpel HT frame custom painted by the legendary Doktor Bobby. The frame was won in a raffle as part of the Slay Ride, an event involving collecting for food banks ahead of Christmas and organised by Claire of All Terre Adventures. She is one of a handful of community-minded organisationally skilled individuals we are lucky to have residing in Bristol.

Not being a mountain biker, my dad kindly passed the frame my way, but with it being a size too small for m I wasn’t sure what to do with it until I remembered that a friend had been on the lookout for a new XC hardtail, would fit the Medium, and loved purple. It seemed meant to be and so I passed the frame on to her and took on the very enjoyable task of speccing and building it to meet her budget. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a looker, and I’m so glad it found its way into the hands of someone who’s going to ride it far and hard, most likely with a massive smile on her face. I can’t wait to see it in the woods.
